Ysgol Friars

As former pupils of Ysgol Friars in Bangor, both Mark and Susan were enthusiastic about maintaining their involvement in the school’s community and making a meaningful contribution to the students. Recognising the growing financial challenges faced by parents and the rising concerns related to the mental health of young people, the WPV Community Fund is dedicated to supporting the school and to address these challenges.

Given that pupils have been through so much over the last few years, Ysgol Friars has always endeavoured to do whatever it can to support its young people. Despite our best efforts, there is always more that could be done. Thanks to the generosity of Watkin Property Ventures we are able to employ two full-time school-based counsellors. They have also built us a bespoke facility on site to provide the much needed intervention. We now have four appropriate rooms in our own independent building where we can support our young people throughout the year. This means the world to our pupils, we can now support them all year round, and grant access to, not only our new counsellors but to any external agency that our children need.
