Bangor 1876 Football Club
The name Bangor 1876 reflects the origins of football in Bangor, which can be traced back to a public meeting held in the city in December 1876. Then, as now, the aim has always been to ensure the continuity of competitive football of the highest possible standard in the city and its catchment area.
We have worked with the club over several years, helping widen access to football and eliminating financial barriers for young people who want to play the sport in Bangor.
The significant role that sports play in promoting physical and mental well-being is widely acknowledged. By working together, we and Bangor 1876 aim to make a lasting difference by tackling the barriers that prevent young people from participating in team sports. This includes addressing challenges such as the rising expenses related to transportation and buying the right sports gear.
We are very grateful to Watkin Property Ventures. Being inclusive is important to us as a club, and with this significant donation we can make sure that our younger players are supported. The on-going cost of living crisis affects more and more of our players, and we are keen to make sure that no one is left out.
