New classrooms donated to Island Academy
In 2021 we committed to helping the school expand, by donating towards the cost of building two additional classrooms, so that they could educate more local children. The facilities Island Academy offer the children of Antigua and Barbuda are second to none and with the new facilities the aim is to be able to give local children from disadvantaged families the chance of a first-class education which not only changes their lives but also the lives of their families
These local children are the future of Antigua and Barbuda and the hope is that with a good education that they will be able to play a central role in their community, and contribute to the economic growth of the country. Island Academy offers students the opportunity to aim high and achieve.
Portia Moursey, the principal of Island Academy said: “The new building you generously donated s is open and ready for the students. It is now home to Grade 1, Grade 2 and the art room. We really wanted to celebrate your commitment, by naming a classroom in your honour, your generosity really helped us complete the facility and our youngest students are directly benefiting from your gift”.
